About this property

Set in the old town of Huntly, Aberdeenshire, is Bonnie Bide, a first-floor apartment, fit with all the home comforts you need for a Scottish break. With amenities and a train station within walking distance, along with well-equipped living areas and bedrooms, this apartment is ideal for a family or group of friends to enjoy exploring a charming area. Inside, the kitchen, dining and sitting areas flow through to one another, allowing a space for your group to catch up. Have your party’s cook whip up a home-cooked dinner in the kitchen, before planning an itinerary around the table for four, finishing the night off with a film on the Smart TV. From here, get some rest in one of two bedrooms, a king-size and a twin, and when you wake you can freshen up in the shower room and get ready for a day of discovering your surroundings. Outside, handy bike storage in the shed is available, while a private seating area makes a lovely space for your morning coffee. If you fancy a break from the cooking, there is a good selection of takeaways, including Chinese, Indian, and traditional fish and chips, and pubs for your evening tipple; why not head to Dean’s of Huntly café and shop, where you can sample some fresh, local produce, and watch it be made in the process? From your doorstep, enjoy walks along the River Deveron or venture up to Huntly Castle to learn about the town’s history. The northeast of Scotland is steeped in history, with a plethora of Scottish National Trust castles to add to your itinerary, including Craigievar, Crathes, Haddo House, and Kildrummy, along with the magnificent Balmoral Castle further afield and many more! The picture-perfect scenery of Scotland is within reach, with Hill of Corskie (Gartly Moor) and Tap o' Noth Hillfort to explore for more of a hike than a stroll, or for keen cyclists, Suie Hill is a must, enjoying breath-taking views from the top over the village of Clatt. The Pictish Stones Trail and The Whiskey trail are nearby and recommended to follow, the latter covering seven world-famous distilleries, or discover the Grampian Heritage Museum and the Transport Museum in Alford for a further opportunity to brush up on your Scottish knowledge. From Huntly, take the train up to Inverness or Aberdeen or continue to visit many charming coastal villages and towns, including Portsoy, once a bustling fishing village, and previously the filming location for many scenes in the Peaky Blinders series. A home-from-home in Aberdeenshire, Bonnie Bide is the perfect escape. EPC Rating: Band C. Licence number: AS00082F

Huntly is a charming town in Aberdeenshire, surrounded by rolling Scottish hills and open fields. The town has an interesting history, and the Standing Stones of Strathbogie can be found in the heart of Huntly, right next to the Brander Museum, which is well worth a visit. Of course, the entire area is part of the well-known Whisky Trail, and there are seven working distilleries for those looking to get a true taste of Scotland! Apart from whisky, Huntly has excellent hotels and pubs to enjoy, as well as an 18-hole golf course. A visit to the outdoor centre provides the opportunity to go roller skiing, or perhaps just enjoy the simple pleasures of cycling and walking in the beautiful Clashindarroch Forest. Keith, about 10 miles away, is the starting point for the "Malt Whisky Trail" and home to Scotland's oldest working malt whisky distillery. Keith is a charming and traditional Scottish town with a great selection of shops and restaurants.
