There are numerous other excellent golf courses in the surrounding area and many other leisure opportunities within easy reach, including skiing at Glenshee or the Lecht and excellent cycling on the many cycle paths. Royal Deeside has numerous castles, most with a wealth of history. Those open to the public are Braemar, Balmoral, Crathes, with its world famous gardens, and Drum, the latter two being National Trust for Scotland properties. On the edges of Royal Deeside there are several more castles including Corgarth, Craigievar and the ruins of Dunnottar Castle. Shop, pub and hotel ½ mile.

Excellent lodge. Warm, plenty of hot water, great showers, good kitchen and relaxing sofas. Beds super comfy too. And it's very quiet. They just need to replace the upstairs carpet as its badly stained.

We had difficulty finding the cottage using the sat nav system but a telephone call to the owners soon made things clearer. The cottage is well equipped, comfortable and in a quiet location but within a few minutes drive to town. Great location for visits to Braemar, Balmoral and beyond. Loved watching salmon leaping the ladder at the Bridge of Feugh. Everyone we met in the town were friendly and helpful.

Was ideal for myself and family, is a bit of a walk into town centre but it's fine if weather ok, the house was nice and clean, could do with a bit paint here and there and carpets have stains, but house is clean ,it's ideal place if you want to visit balmoral castle or aberdeen, would recommend it.
