Snaptrip says

Mr McGregor's Cottage in Omagh is highly praised for its cleanliness, idyllic location, and comfort. Guests appreciate the tranquillity, the proximity to nature and walking trails, and the pet-friendly environment. The cottage's charm and the owner's hospitality, including occasional welcome treats, contribute to a delightful stay. Some minor maintenance issues and suggestions for updates are noted, but overall, guests report a very enjoyable experience.

Guests that stayed at this property said

The cottage receives high marks for cleanliness, with multiple reviews mentioning it being 'very clean' and 'very very clean'. However, a few comments about a musty smell and a need for a deeper clean prevent a perfect score.

The location is frequently described as perfect, idyllic, and central for exploring Northern Ireland. The proximity to walking trails and the peaceful setting are highlights. The only drawback mentioned is the proximity to a busy road, but this seems to be a minor concern.

Guests find the cottage comfortable, with a 'super comfy' bed and a cosy atmosphere. Some guests mention low sofas and a need for more lighting, suggesting room for improvement in comfort for all guests.

The cottage is well-equipped according to several guests, but there are comments about outdated appliances and suggestions for updates. The presence of a wood burner and the provision of wood are positives, but maintenance issues like a loose toilet seat and broken shower thermostat are noted.

While guests mention thoughtful touches like homemade scones and jam upon arrival, these gifts are not consistently reported across all reviews. Therefore, it cannot be guaranteed that such gestures are a standard practice for every stay.

Issues that could use improvement - 1)The tv is very old and tiny. Couldn’t use our fire stick for movie nights and very far away from the couch so we had to use our laptop. 2)no coffee table in the living room for work to be done on the couch or laptop use. 3)hot water for the bath is very temperamental, turning the tap on quickly causes cold water. Only way we found for hot was to have the water dribble out. Clearly an issue with the boiler 4)although the description is very clear but it is very close to the road and the gate to the main road is a farm gate so dogs can easily get through it. So please be mindful about that. All in all we really enjoyed our stay and these were simply minor issues. Thank you and all the best :)

Also a freezer installed..... I suggest a sign on the road from Gortin saying "concealed entrance ahead". Exit and entry to property driveway not comfortable.

Great place but could be fabulous Needs a mirror in the bedroom and brighter lighting More crockery if u r to use dishwasher efficiently and better lighting around the the kitchen area too dark and a bit dangerous Curtains in the living area would look so much better than the plain blind
