Guests that stayed at this property said

Reviewers frequently mention the property's cleanliness, describing it as 'spotless' and 'well prepared', indicating a high level of satisfaction with the cleanliness of the cottage.

The location is highly regarded, with guests enjoying the proximity to York, national parks, and local attractions. The village's charm adds to the appeal, although one mention of a closed pub suggests slight room for improvement.

Comfort is a highlight, with guests finding the property spacious and the beds comfortable. The presence of a hot tub and log fire contributes to a cosy and relaxing experience.

Facilities are well-received, with a fully equipped kitchen and hot tub being particularly appreciated. However, a suggestion for a stair gate and a comment about a single toilet indicate that while facilities are excellent, there is a small margin for enhancement.

We really enjoyed our stay. A few suggestions you may wish to consider: 1) The shower is great. However, the temperature control is challenging to turn down. The knob is very stiff and hard to turn. I would suggest contacting a plumber to resolve incase someone scalds themselves. 2) The two fridges under the stairs were useful. However, the main fridge had been turned to the maximum, which we did not notice. This unfortunately froze much of our food and we had to throw away our salads, cucumber, peppers, lettuce & tomatoes. And some ham. Please check the settings before letting. 3) A few more utensils in the kitchen would be helpful, specifically some backing trays and oven dishes. It was challenging to do a roast dinner with what was available Other than this we had a great stay and loved the location and the hot tub

House has a number of attractive period features. It is spacious, well furnished, clean and very pleasant to stay in. There are two large settees in the living room which were extremely comfortable. The bedrooms were excellent as was the bathroom. Kitchen was excellent with good quality electrical goods. Really nice dining room table. Only real downside is that there is only one toilet but that wasn't a particular problem for us, even though we had 4 adults in our party. Heating was very good but the water temperature in the shower was a little hot but just about manageable. Overall a top quality property which I very much recommend.

! It was very comfortable, clean and spacious. The hot tub was a great addition for us after long days walking. The location allowed us to strike out to a different place every day and we would not hesitate to book again
