We had an amazing time staying at Dairyman's cottage and were there for a family get together for my Mum's birthday. The house was homely, spacious and tastefully decorated and was really nice. There were plenty of nice rooms to hang out in. There were local shops near by, we got a taxi/uber into town as it was cheaper for our party. We never had any bother getting in and out. The only problem was trying to decide whether to stay in the house more and enjoy it or see the sites, we did both. The lady from housekeeping sent us a nice message and also left some nice welcome suppliies- which was a nice touch. We've all said- we'd love to go back.

What a fantastic house. Only my wife and I stayed, but would easily take a family. Really clean, the kitchen had plenty of cooking utensils, you could easily stay in and cook every night if on a budget. The main bed was really comfy, plenty of pillows! Bath towels provided were nice and soft to use. Sitting room was nice to chill out and watch the tv, the conservatory leading off it was nice to sit in and read a book. Loads of squirrels running around! Parking outside was never a problem. The house is located on a quiet street, we pased locals when we walked into town who were all friendly and chatty. Its only about 5-10 mins to the newest bus stops on the main road, and there is a closer on just past the end of the road. The buses in the main road are frequent and run till late. A ticket of two of us for unlimited day travel was £9.60. We would recommend this house if staying in York.
