Guests say

Beckside is a well-received cottage in a picturesque village, praised for its cosy atmosphere, ideal location for exploring North Yorkshire, and friendly owners. Guests appreciate the proximity to local attractions and the peaceful environment, with special mentions of the comfortable bed and well-equipped kitchen. The village pub adds to the charm, offering excellent meals.

The cottage is consistently described as clean and tidy, with guests expressing satisfaction with the level of cleanliness. One review suggests a spring clean could enhance the experience, but this is an isolated comment amidst overall positive feedback.

The location is highly praised for its quiet village setting, accessibility to local attractions, and as a base for exploring the North York Moors. The proximity to good pubs and the peacefulness of the area contribute to the high score.

Guests find the cottage cosy and comfortable, with a good bed and modern bathroom. Some guests mention the pillows could be improved, and the size of the towels and bed are noted, but overall, the comfort level is rated highly.

Facilities are generally well-regarded, with a well-stocked kitchen and nice bathroom. However, some guests mention minor issues such as the quality of the extractor fan, Wi-Fi connectivity, and mobile reception. The absence of a DVD player, despite being advertised, is also noted.

While some guests mention a welcome bottle of wine, there is not enough information to assess the consistency of such gestures or other thoughtful touches across all reviews. Therefore, a score cannot be provided, and guests should note that such gifts are not guaranteed.

About this property

A detached 18th century, stone-built former stable, set next to the owner's home in a quiet corner of the delightful village of Lastingham. Lovingly restored, decorated and furnished, the property has been finished to a high standard, and provides first-class holiday accommodation. The accommodation is all ground floor, and the lovely open-plan living area has French doors leading to a patio area overlooking the village stream. A great base from which to explore the area, the property is within the Moors National Park, and Whitby, the famous coastline and the pretty villages and market towns of the region are within easy reach.

The tiny village of Lastingham is a quiet haven on the edge of the North York Moors with beautiful countryside all around it. The best known building in the village is the Crypt Church of St Mary with its ancient crypt. St Cedd founded a monastery in Lastingham in the 7th Century, but it was destroyed by the Danes in the 9th Century. Pickering is seven miles away and is home to The Beck Isle Museum, which is housed in a handsome Regency property near the centre of the town. Other attractions in the town include The North Yorks Moors Steam Railway. With many castles, historic houses, abbeys, churches and other heritage sites, along with the glorious surrounding countryside, this is a tremendous base for a memorable holiday.

the property was first class. I would recommend this holiday to any of my friends. there was only one thing that I would like to point out was that there was no grab handle in the shower which would have been useful to my partner (in the past she had a bad accident slipping over in a shower which ended her in hospital) But, she did enjoy her bath every night though!! all being well we are hoping to go back to Ironbridge next year. we have had holidays with you company for the last 12 years

A beautiful spot and ideal getaway. Secluded, quiet, no light pollution with friendly and helpful owners ensure a relaxing holiday. The cottage itself is very comfy, clean and well appointed, all you need. The location in the North Yorkshire Moors can not be beaten for cycling and walking with moorland tracks and bridleways in abundance. Absolutely brilliant.
