Some guests noted issues with maintenance and road noise, but overall, the lodge provides a relaxing break.
Mixed feedback on cleanliness, with some guests finding the lodge clean and well-prepared, while others noted areas needing improvement, such as dirty cups and a smelly hot tub. The lodge seems to maintain a decent standard of cleanliness, but there is room for enhancement.

Guests have praised the comfortable beds and the warmth of the lodge. The private hot tub adds to the comfort, despite some issues. The lodge's comfort level is generally high, contributing to a relaxing stay.
Facilities are well-received in terms of cookware and utensils, but several guests reported maintenance issues with appliances and outdoor furniture. The hot tub, a key feature, had mixed reviews regarding its condition. Improvements in maintenance could enhance the overall experience.

Such a lovely, comfortable stay in Sandstone Lodge. Hot tub was great. We as a family of 4 had a relaxing time. Visited York (30 mins) and the local town Malton (5 mins). TV in each room, towels provided and a warm lodge throughout. Little noisy from the A road for one of the bedrooms this cant be helped though. Totally enjoyed the break. Thank you.

The lodge was clean and the beds were comfortable and lovely fluffy towels. There is a big but though the oven door wouldn’t close properly there was about half an inch open. The dishwasher wouldn’t work unless only work if it was slammed. It was a good job there was only 4 of us as there was only 4 forks and 4 bowls. The hot tub was small and only fit the 4 of us. The outside space I can only describe as grotty and the picnic table looked ready to collapse. The table and chairs on the balcony looked as though they hadn’t been washed in years. I tried to clean it myself but it just turned to mud so I gave up and we just didn’t use it. On the whole I was not impressed with this place.
