Small courtyard with patio and garden furniture. Private parking for 1 car; additional public car park, at cost. No smoking.. Upon entering the property, there is a York stone paved entrance hall with garden door to the rear and a sweeping staircase which takes you up to the accommodation which is spread over the first and second floors. The large living room and separate dining room face the front of the property and overlook the city walls and York Minster. Across the hall is the small but stunning kitchen, with central island, views across the roof tops, and top of the range appliances. This kitchen will certainly delight the chef in the family. The two double bedrooms are to be found on the second floor. Decorated with antique furniture, these rooms provide a glimpse back in time to how the gentry would have lived, and the deep mattresses and top of the range linen will ensure you have a great night’s sleep. The small patio area provides a welcome outdoor space to enjoy an afternoon drink whilst planning the next day’s activities or the opportunity to dine al fresco.
With access to over 2 miles of York’s medieval city walls, a maze of snickleways and ginnels, world renowned attractions and a plethora of fabulous shops, cafés and restaurants only a short stroll from the front door, you won’t be able to wait to explore this wonderful city. York is fast gaining a reputation as one of the UKs ‘foodie’ capitals and you can find some seriously great food and even better tipples brewed within the city. Why not take a break from walking around the city and see the view from one of the open top tour buses or sail slowly along the River Ouse on a cruise boat?
Whether your interest is in the large trains on display at the National Railway Museum, the history of the chocolate industry at York’s Chocolate Story, or of marauding Vikings and invading Romans, York has something for everyone. A little further out of the city you can find Castle Howard, one of the UKs finest stately homes, the Yorkshire Air Museum and Eden Camp.
