York is a historic walled city in North Yorkshire, England, with the River Ouse running straight through. The city was founded by the Romans in 71 AD, dating the city back almost two thousand years ago, however evidence has been found that the city could have been inhabited between 8000 and 7000 BC. With so many attractions to see in the city and a variety of local pubs, restaurants, shops and supermarkets in the area.

A lovely 30 minute stroll into York along the river, which truly is a beautiful city. Great location to get out onto the Ring road quickly to visit places further afield. A much appreciated welcome pack with tea and fresh milk in the fridge ! Only negative was having no wi fi.

Friendly welcome given all the information needed for our stay plus an amazing complimentary pack & fresh milk in the fridge. We were able to have a cup of tea & a cookie after a long drive. Property easy to find, no satnav issues. I did look at Google Earth to help recognise the main entrance. Property extremely clean and well maintained everything you'd need in a kitchen. Lovely river walk into City of York about one & half miles lots of seats on the way to take in the view. We went on the river trip approx 45 mins & had a walk around the City Walls. Loads of places to eat or have snacks. The city was very busy at the time of our stay but no different to most cities on a Saturday. We will definitely be back for another visit.

20 minutes walk to good local restaurants, shops and pubs on Bishopthorpe Road, 35 minutes into centre. River in flood so couldnât take riverside path. Would definitely stay again.
