Barn Cottage in Marton is highly praised for its cleanliness, comfort, and peaceful location. Guests appreciate the well-equipped kitchen, comfortable beds, and the secure garden, particularly dog owners. The welcome pack is frequently mentioned as a delightful touch. The cottage serves as an excellent base for exploring North Yorkshire, with easy access to nearby attractions.
Reviewers consistently mention the cottage's exceptional cleanliness, noting it was 'extremely clean on arrival' and 'spotlessly clean', indicating a very high standard of hygiene and upkeep.
The location is celebrated for its tranquillity and convenience for exploring North Yorkshire. The village's peacefulness is a recurring theme, and its proximity to various tourist destinations is appreciated, though the lack of a local shop or pub is noted.
Comfort is a standout feature, with guests highlighting the 'comfortable beds', 'cosy ambiance', and 'home from home' feel. The secure garden and woodburning stove add to the overall comfort, especially for pet owners and during cooler evenings.
Facilities are generally well-regarded, with a well-stocked kitchen and thoughtful touches like a welcome pack. However, some guests suggested improvements such as the addition of a hairdryer, a mirror in the bedroom, and more garden chairs. The lack of a dishwasher was also mentioned.
The thoughtfulness of the hosts is frequently mentioned, particularly the welcome pack which includes essentials and sometimes wine. While these gifts are greatly appreciated, it's important to note that such extras, while common, are not guaranteed for every stay.
