About this Bed and Breakfast

Georgian House is an elegant Grade II Listed Georgian Town House dating back to 1640.  Ideally situated just a two minute walk from York Minster, Europe's largest gothic cathedral, guests can be sure that they are situated close to the heart of the historic city. All rooms are pleasantly decorated in a contemporary style and have en-suite facilities. 

Guest Rooms

We have 22 stylish and comfortable en-suite rooms in a perfect location close to the Minster.  Our recently built 8 roomed Mews accommodation is to the rear and offers an exceptionally quiet city centre base. 

Choose from a variety of rooms available including single, twin, double, triple, family (sleeps 2 adults and 1 child) and a four poster room.  All are en-suite and equipped with a flat-screen TV, radio alarm, central heating, a hair dryer and hospitality tray.

Our secluded Mews Rooms are set in a separate building and offer a peaceful base for up to two adults and one child.

Breakfast

Guests can look forward to a self service breakfast buffet of cereals, fresh fruit, yoghurt, Pain au chocolate, croissants and toast at an additional charge of £7.  A delicious Full English breakfast is also available for an extra charge of £9. 

Breakfast is served from 8am to 9.30am in the dining room.

Georgian House offers the option to include a romantic package in your room featuring fresh flowers and champagne. There will be an extra charge for this service, please enquire for more details.

Check-in and Check-out

Check-in is 2pm to 10pm and check-out is by 10am.  

Around and About

York has something for everyone and we're ideally situated close to York Minster, city centre shops, restaurants, cafes, inns, attractions and museums.

Directions

From York railway station take a left out of the station and walk towards York Minster.  Go across the River via Lendal Bridge.  At the first set of traffic lights take a left onto Exhibition Square.  Then take the next left at the traffic lights onto Bootham.  The Georgian House is 100 yards along on your right.

Travelling by car from Leeds via the A64 (avoiding the city) - head east on the A64 and take the A1237.  Continue for 5 miles following signs for York North (A19).  At the roundabout which intersects with the A19 take a right turn (York North) and continue for 2 miles.  The Georgian House is just on your left almost at the end of Bootham. 

Coming from the North/A19, approach York on the A19 and carry on straight ahead until you get to the roundabout at the outer ring road.  Carry on for 2 miles.  Georgian House is on your left almost at the end of Bootham. 

Travelling from the South M1/A1, drive north on the M1 until you get to the A1M North.  Carry on along the A1M until the A64 York/Leeds.  Continue following directions from Leeds as above. 

Driving from the East/Hull, follow the A1237 until you get to the A19 intersection and take a left turn for York North.  Carry on for 2 miles.  The Georgian House is on the left almost at the end of Bootham.
