York 7 miles. A brick-built, detached barn conversion on the edge of the historic, rural hamlet of Stamford Bridge, 7 miles from York city centre. Beautifully finished to a high standard, this York cottage has panoramic views over open countryside thanks to the strategically placed French doors and feature windows. Oak flooring downstairs and underfloor heating in the kitchen ensure a warm, comfortable welcome in this attractive, traditional York cottage. Fixtures and furnishings are to a high standard throughout this York cottage. Set in a rural location, this cottage near York is well placed to visit the delightful market towns of Beverley, Driffield and Malton, and yet it is only a few miles from the park and ride facility in York where you can visit the Minster, National Railway Museum and the Jorvik Viking Centre all in one day.
The coast and North York Moors are a short drive away from this York cottage, making it an ideal base for families, walkers or groups of friends to explore the region.
The city of York is a wonderful town, with a huge array of activities. Once known as Jorvik, this vibrant town was a major Viking centre of commerce and boasts a huge selection of architecture from a variety of historical periods. From the city walls to the charming shopping street known as The Shambles, York has something for everybody. There are various cruises available down the river Ouse and visitors can enjoy the National Railway Museum, the Castle Museum and Betty's Tea Rooms – home of Yorkshire Tea and an incredibly unique mirror from the Second World War on which service men visiting the café could write their names with a diamond-tipped ‘pen'. Further afield are the Yorkshire Dales and Moors as well as the coastal resorts of Scarborough, Whitby and Filey, making this an incredibly diverse destination.

It was so spacious, clean and provided everything you need, right down to dishwasher tablets and clingfilm. All three bathrooms and the extra toilet was spotless with cleaning products provided. The kitchen was such a nice size you could have a couple of people in there prepping, cooking etc. Great to have such a large dining room table. Loved the open dining/living room. The surrounding land was beautiful. You do have to take your own towels, not a biggie but when I phoned for key details I was informed of this. There is no WiFi but that was fine most people have data. I would say perhaps the double mattress in tge downstairs room needs changing alongside the pillows. The bathrooms all look recently refurbished but in the future maybe change the downstairs bathroom one to a shower room that makes it totally accessible. The Triffitt's were very welcoming. If we visit York again would definitely look to book the Cart shed again.

The property is very well equipped with everything you might need to feel at home, and it was great to have an en-suite to each of the bedrooms. The showers upstairs and bath downstairs are all a good size, easy to adjust and good water pressure. There was always plenty of hot water.
