With access to over 2 miles of York’s medieval city walls, a maze of snickleways and ginnels, world renowned attractions and a plethora of fabulous shops, cafés and restaurants only a short stroll from the front door, you won’t be able to wait to explore this wonderful city. York is fast gaining a reputation as one of the UK’s ‘foodie’ capitals and you can find some seriously great food and even better tipples brewed within the city. Why not take a break from walking around the city and see the view from one of the open top tour buses or sail slowly along the River Ouse on a cruise boat?
Whether your interest is in the large trains on display at the National Railway Museum, the history of the chocolate industry at York’s Chocolate Story, or of marauding Vikings and invading Romans, York has something for everyone. A little further out of the city you can find Castle Howard, one of the UK’s finest stately homes, the Yorkshire Air Museum, Nunnington Hall and Eden Camp. We had a lovely few days staying at Biggan Mews, and the addition of a dedicated parking space meant that we didn’t use our car from our arrival through until our drive home again. The apartment is comfortable and very cosy: perfect for 2! Although it is situated close to the city centre, it is very peaceful and a great place to retreat to after a busy few hours walking in beautiful York! The kitchen area has all that you need to cook at home and the bathroom, although downstairs, is warm with an excellent shower. Thank you!
