Snaptrip says

Ascot Cottage is a well-received holiday rental, praised for its cleanliness, cosy charm, and thoughtful touches. Guests appreciate the well-equipped kitchen, comfortable bed, and modern bathroom. The village setting is friendly, with good local amenities and walks, though the closed pub was noted. The cottage's characterful features, such as the wood burner, add to its appeal. However, guests should be mindful of the steep stairs and steps, which may not suit those with mobility issues.

The cottage is situated in a lovely village with friendly locals, good for walks and exploring nearby attractions. The closure of a local pub and the distance to York are minor drawbacks mentioned.

The comfort of the cottage is frequently highlighted, with a super comfortable bed and a cosy atmosphere enhanced by a wood burner. However, the steep stairs and steps could be a concern for some guests.

The cottage is well-equipped with a modern bathroom and kitchen, though some guests missed having a washing machine. The steep stairs and lack of garden space for dogs were noted as areas for improvement.

Many reviews mention the thoughtful touches, such as a welcome pack and dog amenities, which add to the guest experience. While these gifts are highly appreciated, it's important to note they are not guaranteed for every stay.

First time we had been away for Xmas and Ascot cottage didn't disappoint, very tastefully decorated for Xmas and a lovely welcome package even treats for our pooch. The log burning stove was great and kept us toasty. The village of Sheriff Hutton is lovely and some lovely dog walks, very friendly at the post office and the pub did a lovely Christmas dinner. Highly recommend this delightful cottage and we will be back in the summer months to see how everything looks in sunshine. Thank you very much Susan.

The house was comfortable, warm and had everything we needed during our stay. We had intended to be out and about every day, but the house was so comfortable we stayed indoors as much as we were out. So cosy and as a plus, it snowed. Even when our Shih Tzu Benni wanted to sit on the doorstep with the front door open and watch other dogs going by, it was cosy and warm inside with the log burner and central heating, Will definitely visit again in a heartbeat
