Guests appreciate the cottage's great location, comfortable furnishings, and the warmth it offers. The presence of an on-site cafe and nearby shop adds convenience. While some maintenance issues are noted, such as water supply and TV functionality, the property's peaceful setting and suitability for dogs are well-regarded.
The cottage is generally described as clean and comfortable. However, one review mentioned a strong smell and suggested the floors could be cleaner, indicating room for improvement.
The location is praised for being quiet with lovely views, a nearby shop, and within walking distance to Staithes. The convenience of the location is a highlight for guests.
Guests find the cottage warm and comfortable, with clean beds and a cosy atmosphere. Some minor issues with pillows and a lack of basic kitchen items were mentioned.
Facilities are adequate but several reviews mention maintenance issues such as problems with the water supply, TV, and lights. These recurring issues suggest a need for attention to facilities.
While guests mention welcome packs, there is no consistent feedback on their quality or the thoughtfulness of the host. As such, it is not possible to accurately score this category.

This charming cottage looks out onto the patio which backs onto the sweeping estate grounds surrounding you, and the tree lined valleys and rolling countryside of the National Park beyond. On the ground floor there is a bespoke handcrafted kitchen with the dining area, as well as a separate spacious living room. In the evening sit back and relax on the comfortable sofas around the crackling wood burner. Nestled in a peaceful rural location, this is the perfect place to relax and take each day at your own pace. On the first floor there are two bedrooms, one with a double bed, the other with twin beds, both with en-suite facilities, making this ideal for small families, friends or couples looking for a romantic break.
Seaton Hall has a fascinating past, the hall was named after the de Seton dynasty who resided from 1130 to 1307, and whose family made allegiances with and marriages to the Scottish Royal Family. Passed down through generations, before slipping into disrepair. The present owner purchased the estate in 2002. He has employed a team of specialist masons and craftsmen and has been lovingly rebuilding and restoring this incredible place of local heritage. The local cafe and bistro, owned by the owners, open seven days a week is well worth a visit after a day of exploring!
There is something to delight everyone in the area, with picturesque walking trails, including the Cleveland Way leading across the cliff tops. Many pretty coastal villages such as Runswick Bay, Robin Hoods Bay, Staithes and the historical seafaring town of Whitby will delight guests. Whitby, with its cobbled old town, independent shops and cafes, boat trips and the iconic Abbey ruins makes a great day out. Saltburn is a surfer’s paradise, with a beautiful Victorian pier. You can take a trip on the steam train across the North Yorkshire Moors Railway, taking in the views and visiting some beautiful villages along the way. For children you can ride the miniature train in Ruswarp before hiring a boat to row along the river. Youngsters are sure to be delighted playing on the beach as well as visiting the arcades and miniature golf in Whitby, for an extra special treat you can even take them to Flamingo Land theme park and zoo.
