Homely cottage built during the mid-19th century and situated in the village of Staithes in Yorkshire. Located in the village centre, and with its warm pine furnishings located throughout, the one bedroom property is perfect for couples looking for a relaxing weekend around the North York Moors National Park. The entrance to the cottage is via an alleyway off the High Street, and guests will find that they won’t have to go far into the property to prepare a meal or take a break with a cup of tea, as the first room you see is the kitchen/diner. On the next floor is the sitting room, where holidaymakers can relax in one of the comfortable armchairs and watch TV or a DVD. Alternatively, there are plenty of good books to choose from. Also on the first floor is the shower room, which features a walk-in shower and heated towel rail. The property’s sole bedroom is located on the second floor, and guests are guaranteed a good night’s sleep in the double bed, with views over Cowbar Nabb. Guests are advised that a well-behaved dog is welcome. The Old Cottage is perfectly positioned within the local area, with a short walk to the busy village centre’s pubs, shops and restaurants. While guests only have to walk a few steps to take in the view of the bridge and Roxby Beck. The picturesque harbour and beach are also a short distance away. Fans of the countryside won’t have to go far to experience beautiful scenery and the many fabulous activities as the property is within the North York Moors National Park. The area has so much worth exploring, and many myths and legends that have helped shape what it is today. Why not take a walk with giants in East Barnby, or why not visit Beggars Bridge in Glaisdale? Both of which have fascinating stories behind them. Alternatively, why not bask in the stunning surroundings by climbing on board the train along the Esk River or North Yorkshire Moors Railway? The Old Cottage combines comfortable living and a gateway to adventure, making it a great spot to enjoy a break in Staithes.
Staithes, with its cobbled streets and back alleys, consists of cottages and harbour and surrounded by high craggy cliffs and a beach. Staithes is a must for anyone visiting the Yorkshire Coast and has numerous pubs, shops and tea rooms. It is also home to an rnli lifeboat station and a fishing boats, landing fish, crab and lobster. Guests can take in boat trips for birdwatching, fishing and also whale watching! Staithes is popular with artists, with an annual Art and Heritage Festival, galleries and artists studios with art courses and workshops also on offer. The best views of the town are from the Cleveland Way which runs down the cliff to the sea’s edge. It's a great base for exploring the Yorkshire Coast, and for visiting the resorts of Whitby and Scarborough, as well as the North York Moors National Park.

Please note that off-road parking is available towards the top of the village with a council car park and a private car park in Glenvale (booking is essential before arrival), there is also 40 minutes free parking in the high street near to the cottage suitable for drop off and pick ups

Clean, cosy and well equipped. Situated within a few minutes walk from shops, pubs, sea front and a caretaker on hand if needed. Looking forward to next year's stay and many more.
