Driftwood Cottage is a well-received holiday rental with guests praising its cleanliness, cosy atmosphere, and convenient location for exploring the Yorkshire coast. The property boasts comfortable beds, a modern kitchen and bathroom, and secure gardens that are appreciated by pet owners. While some guests have suggested improvements, the overall sentiment is positive, with many expressing a desire to return.
The majority of guests found Driftwood Cottage to be spotlessly clean, with several reviews highlighting its tidiness. However, one review mentioned that the carpets upstairs appeared not to have been vacuumed, slightly affecting the score.
The location is highly praised for its proximity to local attractions, walking paths, and the beach. The availability of off-road parking and a bus stop right outside the property adds to the convenience, making it an ideal base for exploring.
Guests generally found the beds very comfortable and the cottage cosy, especially with the log burner. However, some guests found the seating in the lounge area uncomfortable, which impacts the comfort score.
The cottage is equipped with a modern kitchen and bathroom, and guests appreciated the secure garden for pets. Nonetheless, some reviews cited issues with heating, draught proofing, and a lack of kitchen equipment, indicating room for improvement in facilities and maintenance.
Several guests were delighted by welcome packs, which included items like fresh flowers, milk, and local treats. It's important to note that such gifts, while appreciated, may vary and are not guaranteed for every stay.

Weâve stayed in a couple of cottages in the Hinderwell area and this is by far our favourite which is why we keep returning.

Nice little welcome pack when we arrived, thank you. We had a really enjoyable week and really loved walking the Cleveland way which was only a 10 minute walk away. Loved Runswick Bay and Saltburn-By-The-Sea. Highly recommended. Also The Ellerby Inn 5 minutes drive away is well worth a visit. 10/10
