Guests consistently commend the property for its spotless condition and high standard of cleanliness, with several reviews specifically mentioning how clean and well-maintained the cottage is.

The central location is frequently highlighted as a major advantage, allowing easy access to local attractions. However, some guests mention difficulties with parking, which slightly impacts the score.

Many guests find the cottage cosy and homely, though a few reviews note the property is smaller than expected and the living space can be tight, especially for larger guests or those with pets.

There’s a bedside cabinet with good lighting for reading at night. This floor benefits from its own cloakroom with basin and WC for added convenience.

Whitby fish and chips are world class! Climb the 199 steps up to St Mary’s Church and soak up some spectacular views from the vantage point of Whitby’s iconic Abbey ruins. Or find your sea legs and take a pleasure trip from the harbour – they run daily along the heritage coast.

Stretch your legs a little further and walk 25 mins’ during low tide from Whitby to Sandsend, with its charming sea-front cafes. Robin Hood’s Bay, Scarborough and Filey are to the south, offering miles of unspoilt sandy beaches. Inland villages worth visiting include Grosmont – go by steam train! – or Goathland – where they filmed ITV’s Heartbeat.

Everything was spot on, from the facilities provided, to the location - brilliant! I.would recommend highly, in the blink of an eyelid, to anyone contemplating a visit to Whitby. Most certainly we will be back, hopefully to the Little Gem. Regards Jim & Sharon Anderson P.s. We think we left a loaf of bread in the microwave, so sorry. You don’t have to post it back!!

As a diminutive minimalist who enjoys interior design I loved the decor and clever use of space. Even able to do my yoga upstairs while hubby listened to podcast over his coffee downstairs. Perfect!
