Location is fantastic, central to Whitby but also quiet. Lots of nice pubs, places to eat and chippys within walking distance and close to the beach. Second time weâve stayed and highly recommend.

However there was a smell of damp which I know can be inevitable in a basement property. The mats in the bedroom, living room and kitchen were rather grubby as were the two throws on the sofa. Just replacing or washing these regularly would make such a difference. The washing machine looked so ancient that I didnât dare use it. The âwelcome packâ described in the owners notes seemed to consist of one pack of biscuitsâ¦. Overall it was a bit underwhelming.

The flat was warm cosy and comfortable. The kitchen was well equipped and very clean. The bedding and towels were high quality.
