This pretty, stone cottage lies in the sleepy village of Sneaton, just two miles from the popular seaside town of Whitby. Well-maintained and thoroughly furnished, it is ideal for families wishing to enjoy the beautiful mix of moorland and coast, in a wonderful part of North Yorkshire. Offering all ground floor accommodation, you enter into a cosy and welcoming sitting room, with an electric imitation woodburner for ambience and a dining area to the rear. The modern, well-equipped kitchen is bright and cheerful, enabling you to cater for everyone, while the two attractive bedrooms and shower room are just along the hallway. Outside a small, enclosed courtyard garden is a lovely suntrap - a peaceful spot to sit and relax with a glass of wine, after a busy day out exploring. Conveniently situated, a five-minute walk along the lane brings you to the local pub serving food, a real bonus if you don't feel like cooking. Also nearby, Beacon Farm Ice Cream Farm and Tea Rooms is sure to be a big hit with everyone! The immediate area has a superb network of public footpaths, including the ancient monks trod, that led the monks to Whitby Abbey in days gone by. Cyclists are also well catered for, with the surrounding challenging terrain. Just a few minutes' drive brings you to Whitby, with its long sandy beaches, quaint streets, alleyways and cobbled market square. The town has much to offer, with restaurants, tea rooms, museums, pretty gardens in Pannett Park and an historic harbour. Climb the 199 steps up to Whitby Abbey or take a bracing cliff top walk along the Cleveland Way. For something a little different, why not book a night time ghost walk, or a whale watching trip? From harbourside cocktail bars to famous fish and chips, it has something for everyone. The rural village of Sneaton lies close to Whitby, and within driving distance of Scarborough, in North Yorkshire. There are some wonderful walks in the area, including the notable Monks Trod, which leads down to Whitby. This fishing port has cobbled streets and alleys, beaches, restaurants and an array of cafes as well as its 199 steps to the abbey.

Great Garden for the dog and very central to places like Whitby and Robinhood Bay. Local pub The Wilson Arms only 5 mins walk and does excellent evening meals. Highly recommend this cottage.

Nice and cozy and well presented. Ideal base to explore Whitby/Goathland/Scarborough etc. We lost one day of our wee break due to the snow from storm Bert. It meant we couldnât travel to the cottage on the Saturday and had to wait until the snow melted on the Sunday. But we still managed to cram a lot in. Thank you

Whilst the cottage was clean, up to a point, it was not to the standard we would have provided. Having said that it was acceptable and comfortable. The position was great for visiting everywhere we wanted to. The toilet seat needs attention or replacing. The outside lights didn't work. With a few bits of attention the 4* rating would have been a 5*.
