Aislaby

Aislaby is a beautiful village set in the countryside only three miles from the historic town of Whitby. It is a tranquil place providing lovely views across the Esk Valley towards neighbouring villages including Sleights. Many of the stone houses in the village were built from locally quarried stone. The Aislaby quarry was reopened in 2002 and supplies some of the finest sandstone for buildings in London and English seaside piers. The final resting place of famous Whitby photographer, Frank Meadow Sutcliffe, can be seen in the graveyard. It is a stunning location with fabulous views of the countryside.
