About this property

Settled besides the Yorkshire coastline in Cayton Bay Holiday Park, rests this contemporary lodge, Lawlor's Retreat. Just paces away from a sandy beach and enjoying on-site facilities, including an indoor heated swimming pool and live entertainment, this holiday home is a great base for a family of six. Admire the spacious setting of the park and climb up a handful of steps to reach the lengthy wrap-around decking, the ideal place to dine alfresco on warm evenings. Step inside through the patio doors to discover the stylish open-plan living space, where you can unwind on the plus sofas in front of the TV after an action-packed day with the family. Moving through the home, locate the matte black and gold kitchen area, here the designated chef can rustle up meals in the electric oven and gas hob and make use of the dishwasher to assist with the cleaning. Settle down at the dining table to tuck-into heart-warming meals and why not uncork a bottle of fizz to toast to your time away? Throw open the patio doors and take a seat on the outdoor furniture to soak in the last of the sun and relish the fresh air. As the sky grows dark, retreat inside to choose between three well-presented bedrooms, there is a master with a double and en-suite WC and two lovely twin bedrooms, ideal for the younger ones. Awaken with a refreshing rinse in the shower room before joining your guests in the open-plan living space to socialise. Make use of the fantastic facilities from the foot of the door, show off your swing at crazy golf, join in the Sports Dome for a range of exciting activities or swing from the treetops on a high ropes course. A short walk will lead you to the sweeping sand of Cayton Bay Beach, why not surf the waves and afterwards enjoy a refreshment from the kiosk to enjoy a quaint walk with a hot drink? Visit the traditional seaside town of Scarborough to unveil over 3000 years of history at Scarborough Castle, test your swing at Scarborough South Cliff Golf Club and dive into marine life at Scarborough Sea Life Sanctuary. Relax in Filey for the day, with its pretty stretch of sand to explore, idyllic wildlife park, as well as rugged cliffs and its award-winning Crescent Gardens. For memories you will cherish with your loved ones, choose a stay at Lawlor's Retreat.

Cayton, a small village and civil parish in North Yorkshire's Scarborough district, is ideal for a beach getaway, having a decent range of amenities and attractions both inside the village and in the surrounding area. There are many of hidden jewels to find in the community, which boasts historic traces of its existence during wwii, with coastline erosion pillboxes visible around the area. The village has a fair selection of pubs and shops, ideal for a self-catering stay, but Scarborough, a lively resort town with plenty of things to interest all ages, has a larger selection of waterside cafes.

Radiators had been turned off by previous occupant. Soon got warm and cosy Only two comments the path to van needs extending as the grass was sodden with all the rain so we were treading mud in, and could do with bedside lamps. Otherwise lovely property.

Surely for health and safety this should be visable on a wall, possibly near the door. An information pack about the van would have been good eg the items and their instructions. Plus what to do at the end of your stay eg bins and bedding/towels etc (people may not get the email from Sykes as internet not good) Info about the site as their pack would not download. Also would make it more personal to the lodge rather than info just from Sykes. A small thing but frustrating, only 2 rolls of toilet tissue, irritating to have to buy a pack that wouldnt all be used. Would have brought some had we known. Overall these are small things but did have some impact. Didnt spoil the holiday and we had a lovely time with my 90 year old Mum. Thank you

Extremely lucky with weather so could take advantage of new outdoor furniture. All amenities we could wish for, very clean and tidy. Towels and linens good quality (altho would prefer to have matress and pillow protectors). Would recommend and will, hopefully, return. Thanks you for another good stay.
