About this property

A fabulous, detached property, set back just off the seafront, in the popular coastal town of Scarborough. Superbly located, tucked away from the hustle and bustle, yet only a stone's throw to the beach, this Scarborough cottage is ideal for family groups and friends wanting to enjoy a traditional seaside holiday. Restored to a high standard, with oak flooring downstairs and furnished and decorated with a nautical feel, this Scarborough cottage offers spacious accommodation, with a comfortable sitting room and the benefit of a second sitting/games room - ideal for the younger members of the party and allowing plenty of space to spread out! The modern, well-equipped kitchen of this Scarborough cottage has a dining area, which provides a lovely, sociable space to sit around the table with a cup of coffee and chat, whilst upstairs, the four bedrooms are tastefully styled. To the rear of this cottage in Scarborough, is an enclosed sunny courtyard, the perfect spot to sit and relax with a glass of wine after a long day on the beach! Rarely found in central Scarborough, the cottage boasts private parking for one car on the forecourt and a parking permit for a second, a real bonus for guests. All the amenities of this vibrant seaside town are on the doorstep of this Scarborough cottage, with a vast array of restaurants, cafes, pubs and amusements. A short stroll will bring you to the majestic castle set high on the cliffs, or to the Spa Theatre, which hosts shows and films throughout the year. Enjoy a trip to the Sealife Centre or wander around the pretty gardens such as Peasholm Park and the Italian Gardens. For those in search of lovely countryside, the whole of the spectacular North York Moors is within easy reach and many small coastal and inland villages, including Robin Hood's Bay, Danby and Staithes. A wonderful base for all the family, all year round.

The seaside town of Scarborough retains many of its original buildings, parks and gardens and has two sandy beaches. Ideally situated for touring the coast and the Moors.

Location is perfect. Kitchen has everything you would need during a stay. Everywhere is spacious and caters for a full house of 9. Host was very responsive, Couldn’t fault a thing and we will definitely be returning.

The house is roomy and gave lots of space for 4 adults and two children. The kitchen is well equipped and the rooms are all comfy. The quiet space at the back of the house to sit out in the sunshine was lovely. We all slept well in the comfy beds with lots of storage for our clothes and luggage. The car parking space in front of the house is a god send as parking in Scarborough can be difficult at busy times. There is a shop 10 seconds from the house selling essentials which was really useful and the nearest pub is the same distance, we didnt use it so cant comment on quality. More bars, cafés and ice cream are available just a few more steps away. We stayed local, but highly recommend RSPB Bempton, especially between May and July when the puffins are nesting. The castle had a great pirates event and the castle is free to visit for English Herritage members. Whitby is accessible by bus if you want to avoid driving as is Robinhoods bay. Falling Foss is a beautiful location for a walk and a treat at the cafe and Goathland is a short drive away to see where Harry Potter was filmed, see the steam trains and venture into the village to see where Heartbeat was filmed. You can go and see the Naval Warfare in Peasholm Park, swim at Alpamare or relax with a walk in the Italian gardens on the esplanade. With all this to do and a beautiful well equipped base to do it from, what's not to love? We can't wait to return!
