About this property

Robin Hood's Bay 1 mile. An exquisite, semi-detached, traditional Georgian cottage, backing onto the village green in the lovely village of Fylingthorpe, one mile from Robin Hood's Bay. Oozing charm and character, this cottage has been lovingly renovated to the highest of standards, retaining original fireplaces and exposed timbers and brickwork. The rooms are beautifully presented, with a snug sitting room with inglenook fireplace and woodburning stove and a lovely bright and sunny kitchen and dining area, with a Belfast sink and stone flagged floors. Offering three charming bedrooms, all individually styled, and one with a romantic four poster bed, the cottage provides superb accommodation for couples, families or friends. With spectacular sea views from the back, this is not to be missed. Outside, a small private patio area overlooks the large communal green, a pleasant spot to sit and relax with a glass of wine! The village itself has excellent facilities, with a shop with on-site butcher, baker and superb takeaway, as well as an inn serving food. An easy walk over the fields brings you to the ancient fishing village of Robin Hood's Bay, with its steep, winding cobbled streets, lined with quaint cottages tumbling down towards the sea. Explore the dramatic coastline and heather-clad moors, discover the delights of nearby Whitby or visit the pretty market towns of Malton, Helmsley and Pickering. The first-class accommodation at this cottage is in an area with a wealth of activities to suit everyone.

The pretty village of Robin Hood's Bay has narrow cobbled streets and quaint cottages and is situated between the seaside towns of Scarborough and Whitby. There are beaches and cliff top walks nearby, plus walks can be enjoyed through the Cleveland Way and the Lyke Wake Walk.

Back gate opens onto grassy meadow with views of the sea. We enjoyed sitting outside with a glass of wine most evenings after busy days. Would be great for families with children. Shops, pub/restaurant, walks and bus stop all really close by so park up and enjoy your holiday….we did! Would love to return some day.

The house was clean and very comfortable and met all our needs. Less than a mile to walk to the sea front at Robin Hoods Bay, and around a minute to the local pub. The weather could have been better but it didn't stop our enjoyment of Whitby, Scarborough, York, Falling Foss waterfall (which was improved by it) and the North Yorkshire Moors Railway. A memorable surprisingly relaxing week.
