Holly Cottage is a charming property praised for its peaceful location, cosy atmosphere, and secure gardens, ideal for dogs. Guests appreciate the rural setting close to Whitby and enjoy the open fire and views. Some guests experienced minor issues with maintenance and cleanliness, but the overall sentiment is positive, with many expressing a desire to return.

Guests that stayed at this property said

Cleanliness scores well, though some guests mentioned the need for a more thorough clean, citing cobwebs and crumbs. However, the majority found the cottage to be clean and comfortable.

The location is highly praised for its tranquillity and proximity to local attractions like beaches and the North Yorkshire Moors. Guests love the quiet setting and easy access to nearby towns.

Comfort is generally well-regarded, with guests finding the cottage cosy and homely. Some noted the bedrooms are compact and the double bed uncomfortable, but the overall experience remains positive.

Facilities are adequate, with guests enjoying the open fire and garden. However, there are comments about the need for TLC, issues with appliances, and a lack of cleaning materials, which affects the score.

While some guests mentioned receiving welcome gifts such as wine and milk, others did not receive any, and there is no consistent mention of such gestures. Therefore, it's not possible to score thoughtfulness based on the available information.

. all facilities and creature comforts as described and property owner very helpful in discovering local amenities and dining options .. All in all, everything you need for a peaceful break, with no unpleasant surprises .. we would book again without hesitation.

Loved the open fire and enclosed garden. Only slight minuses were that we couldn’t get the kitchen storage heater to work, and Wi-Fi was very patchy, although to be expected in such a rural area. Overall we all thoroughly enjoyed it and would definitely return.
