The wonderful, gothic town of Whitby has something for everyone, from the Whitby Abbey to the old town and its cobbled back streets complete with bazaars.  No visit to Whitby is complete without challenging the 199 steps to top of the town and Abbey; its definitely worth the effort for the view alone.  Whitby plays host to regular events such as the Steampunk festival, the Bram Stoker Film festival, the Whitby Regatta and the now world famous Goth Weekender.  A little closer to home, Hawsker has a warm and cosy local pub that serves good food, and for outdoor. . .
