Very nice and clean cottage, everything you need for a weeks holiday. However the two sofas are very uncomfortable and could do with replacing.

we had a very relaxing stay at The Old Chapel. the chapel is very warm and peaceful. Very comfortable bed. If you have not visited this part of the east coast before this is the perfect base with Filey 5mins away by car, Scarborough 10mins and Whitby 45 mins. Hunmanby Gap, (5Mins away) is a dog's paradise with a vast expanse of smooth golden sand. The Piebald is famous for having 52 pies on its menu and is well worth a visit. Good food and only 5Mins away by car on the edge of the village of Hunmanby.

Cottage has been beautifully changed to a cottage. However, is showing signs of age. First impressions not too good. The key safe needs oiling and grubby. Outer and inner doors peeling and need restaining. Paintwork in porch peeling and dirty. Shower has no power and temperature keeps changing. Only used once then used bath which had no instructions how to use the jacuzzi part. In fact no instructions for any of the equipment in the cottage. In kitchen lacking so much small equipment which would only cost £50/60 to buy but would make preparing a meal easier No small veg/fruit knife, just a carving knife, no balloon whisk just an ancient egg whisk, no oven glove, only 2 pieces of paper on kitchen towel, sugar container was sticky and obviously not been washed for a long time, just 2 egg cups though cottage for 4 people, washing line supplied but only 4 pegs. 1 casserole dish but 3 lids. Old and very shabby table mats. Cushions on settees so thin hardly worth calling cushions. All the towels were very hard obviously no fabric conditioner used and very thin. Need replacing with soft, fluffy bath SHEETS not the smaller bath towels. I was also concerned that there was no file in the cottage with a list of useful phone numbers of doctors, A&E, dentist, owner. Plus details of local amenities, shops, pubs, local walks.
