Nestling in the hamlet of Speeton just a few miles from the seaside town of Filey, yet bordering open countryside, this stunning chapel conversion retains many original features such as beautiful stained glass windows, high solid wood ceilings, wall panelling and solid wood floors. Spectacular cliff top walks afford breathaking views of the rugged yet beautiful East Yorkshire coastline. Scarborough and Bridlington are nearby, and the rspb Bird Sanctuary with kittiwakes, guillemots, puffins and gannets, just 3 miles. York, just under an hour away by car, is worth a visit. Here guests can walk the city walls, visit the railway museum, the minster and shambles with its designer boutique shops. For those who enjoy the countryside, the North York Moors and Wolds are not too far away. The Cleveland Way and Wolds Way walks are a few minutes away. The Old Chapel is a fantastic base to see Yorkshire at its best. Shops 4 miles.

We loved staying in the Old Chapel, such a beautiful and peaceful place! Situated in a quiet village just a short walk to the coast and within easy reach of lots of other interesting places to visit. It's the most wonderful conversion, with so many lovely details - watch the DVD of its metamorphosis if you stay.

The Old Chapel is an amazing place to stay, near to all the attractions North Yorkshire has to offer.The location is so quiet.Inside is everything you will want for a great break away.Neal the owner paid a visit to see if everything was ok and enjoyed a chat with him about the history and renovation of The Old Chapel, great chap.I would highly recommend anyone to stay at this accommodation, the only thing i would say is that decor and parts of fixtures and fittings are looking a bit tired and could do with refreshing or updating, but this should in no way deter anyone from staying at this great place.
