Allow the designated chef some time in the kitchen, getting used to all the appliances which includes a convenient washing machine, perfect for when exploration gets a little muddy. Prepare the dining table with crockery and cutlery before popping open a bottle of wine to enjoy over a home-cooked dish. As the evening comes to a close, choose from the four bedrooms to catch your rest, including three doubles, one of which is located on the ground floor, making it the ideal choice for those with limited mobility, along with a twin room that is suitable for both adults and children alike. Completing the interior is a spacious bathroom where you can sooth your aching muscles after a day of walking. The seaside town of Filey is the perfect place for a memorable break on the Yorkshire coast. Filey Brigg is a low headland that protects Filey Bay and offers excellent bird watching opportunities throughout the year. The nearby seaside town of Scarborough is a popular choice, offering plenty to see and do, with two beaches, exiting attractions and a rich history, it’s well worth a visit.

The welcome pack was a lovely addition and meant we could sit and have a cup of tea and biscuits after our journey. The cottage has everything you need for a stay and the washing up products and soap in every bathroom was a very handy. The only downside, and there was only the one, was the fact that we were there in October and there are lots and lots of flies in the area at that time of year.

Cobwebs in every corner of the house, dust like you have never seen and the flooring in the upstairs bathroom was coming away from the bath, tried to use the vacuum in the house a few times for the dust and cobwebs behind furniture but the vac had not been cleaned out in years and was absolutely useless. Safe to say the cleaners the owner is hiring (if they are hiring any at all) are not doing a very good job. Showers are filthy, also the on suite one has mould on the ceiling, the kitchen sink is very loose and leaks, one of the hobs doesnât work on the cooker. Upstairs tvs didnât work and the childrenâs rooms tv only accepted dvds but when we tried to put on one for the kids it didnât work anyways so complete waste of time. I could go on and on and on. We had a lovely time away at the bay but I would not stay at Northolme again unless it had a deep clean. For the prices you are asking, the cleanliness and keep up of the furniture should be first priority.

The games and toys were a nice touch and perfect for a rainy afternoon. The property was warm but the hall radiator needs bleeding because the dining area was much cooler than the living room ( not a major issue). We would definitely stay again.
