About this property

Filey 3 miles.

An attractive, end-terrace mews property in a modern holiday development at The Bay, three miles from the charming traditional seaside town of Filey. With excellent facilities on site, including a shared heated indoor swimming pool, gym, steam room and sauna, this Filey cottage is ideal for families wanting a seaside location with modern facilities. Offering very welcoming accommodation, this Filey cottage has a spacious, open plan living area with south-facing French doors opening on to a small patio. Light and airy throughout, this Filey cottage is tastefully furnished and decorated to a high standard. The property is well-equipped, with TVs and DVDs in each bedroom and a good selection of games - including a Wii - so there is plenty to keep everyone amused. Surrounded by extensive communal lawned grounds with picnic areas and two lakes, this Filey cottage has a host of outdoor pursuits such as putting green, tennis and bike hire readily available. Guests are able to book snorkelling, archery and fencing lessons if desired or for the less energetic there is the on-site beautician's and coffee shop. The local pub serves food and is well placed for a short walk to the long, sandy, Blue-Flag beach. Filey itself offers a good array of independent shops, fine promenades and lovely parks. Enjoy the historic harbour or try rock pooling on Filey Brigg. Cleveland Way is ideal for walkers and the North Yorkshire Wolds National Cycle Route is popular with cyclists who visit the area and both are within a mile of your cottage. Nearby Bempton RSPB Reserve is well worth a visit whilst the Yorkshire Wolds and Flamborough cliffs are essential viewing. A lovely Filey cottage for a very enjoyable holiday.

Filey is a seaside resort on the North East Coast. Filey has been a seaside resort since Victorian times and is set on Filey Bay, a long stretch of sand with its shallow rock pools.

Spacious for four, very clean and tidy, perfect just as described. Great base to walk the coastal paths and nearby coves and bays.

Outside bench set is sheltered and catches the afternoon sun. Just off the main entrance to the site but next to no noise from the road and quiet at night. Found the couches very uncomfortable, even used several cushions to no avail. A couple of comfy chairs instead of one couch would be ideal but this is obviously a personal preference. Excellent dog walking meadow adjacent to cottage and the 5 mile long beach is stunning but a good walk through the site but worth it. The walk to Filey and back on the beach is beautiful ( approx 6 mile) but we'll worth the effort. We dined out most nights ( found oven difficult to work out) but plenty places in Filey and surrounding villages were dog friendly. Not recommended any as everybody's idea of "good" varies - as we found out. Overall in spite of the mixed weather we had a lovely time.

Close to main road but not too noisy but handy for bus stops in either direction.
