A real gem on the Yorkshire coast. The promenade running along the seafront features a series of artworks inspired by the local natural heritage. For the real thing though, head to Filey Brigg which is a good spot for birdwatching and marks the start of the Cleveland Way coastal walk. This small town is family orientated, with crazy golf and candy floss. Also in Filey there is the Filey Dams Nature Reserve, a wetland reserve where common and rare waders and wildfowl can be seen as well as autumn gatherings of swallows, sand martins and house martins.
