Just a five minute walk from the cottage brings you to a café and pub, and a lovely walk through the communal grounds takes you to a safe, long sandy beach. The quaint seaside resort of Filey is only a short drive away and has fine promenades, brightly painted beach huts and pony rides along the beach. You can stroll through the ornamental gardens or down the cobble landing where the fishing vessels are moored. Why not spend an afternoon crabbing in the rock pools or take an exhilarating clifftop walk along Filey Brigg, with panoramic views along the coastline? Nearby Bempton RSPB reserve is well worth a visit, especially in the summer months to see the puffins, kittiwakes and gannets, whilst culture lovers will enjoy the surrounding stately homes such as Swerby Hall, Sledmere House and Burton Agnes Hall. Just a little further afield are the larger resorts of Scarborough and Bridlington, with some wonderful countryside to discover. This delightful property is ideal for a family holiday at any time of the year.

A traditional seaside resort with a friendly atmosphere, Filey is an ideal place for walkers and wildlife watchers all year round. The village has remained a popular choice since the Victorian era, with the magnificent Filey Bay with stretches of sand, and Filey Brigg with shallow rockpools. We were very disappointed to find that there was virtually no washing up liquid, no dishwasher tablets, no scourer or surface wiper and no spare toilet roll. These we would expect as a minimum. In our experience it is also usual to expect salt, pepper, cooking oil in self catering accommodation. It is also welcome to find milk, tea(there were a few tea bags) and biscuits. There was no welcome pack with details about the property site or the area. No personal communication from the owner. There was minimal provision of games, books etc.. Not an issue for us but would certainly have been significant if children had been staying. With a few tweaks this property could be very good.

The cottage is very comfortable and warm .A couple of things that would be in my opinion would make it even better are a small information pack I know we have Google these days but on arrival would make it simpler. The other thing I would say is a blind at the patio as the other cottages can see into your living room. This wouldn't stop me booking staks again A lovely home.

The cottage was lovely and clean and beautifully decorate. The Bay had all the facilities we needed.
