Guests say

Manor House Farm offers a charming and peaceful countryside retreat with beautiful views and a tranquil setting, ideal for those seeking relaxation and access to the North Yorkshire Moors. Guests consistently praise the comfortable beds, well-equipped kitchen, and the overall cleanliness of the property. While some mention minor maintenance issues and the remote location, the majority found the cottage cosy and well-suited for exploring the surrounding area. The property is especially appreciated for its quiet atmosphere, making it a delightful base for a restful holiday.

Most guests found the cottage clean and tidy, with comfortable beds and fresh linen. However, a few reviews noted issues such as dead flies in some rooms and a bathroom that could have been better maintained, which slightly lowered the overall impression.

The location is widely praised for its stunning views, peacefulness, and proximity to local attractions. Some guests found it a little remote and far from shops and pubs, but most appreciated the tranquillity and natural beauty.

Guests frequently commented on the comfortable beds, cosy atmosphere, and quality linen. A few mentioned the property felt cold at times or that the space might be tight for larger groups, but overall comfort was rated highly.

The cottage is generally well-equipped, especially the kitchen, but some guests noted missing items (such as mugs and bowls), minor maintenance issues with the bathroom, and occasional problems with appliances. These were usually resolved promptly, but there is room for improvement.

There are no mentions of welcome gifts or extra thoughtful touches in the reviews, so a score cannot be provided for this category.

We stayed at this cottage for 1 week and we had such a lovely stay. The location is stunning and it was so quiet with just the birds singing during the day and an owl hooting at night. The cottage was nice and clean, well equipped with everything you need for a pleasant stay. The beds were very comfortable and towels were thick and soft. The only downside were the flies/mosquitos which may be because the cottage was next to a sheep field, or it may have also have been because it was so warm this particular week. Some of us were bitten several times when we arrived but nothing a bit of bug spray did not fix. Absolutely wonderful, relaxing stay enjoyed by us all

An old farmhouse in an absolutely stunning location, off the beaten track …. perfect! As there was only two of us space was not an issue, but more than this might feel a little cramped. Bathroom sloping ceilings may be a problem for many too. The house was clean and the heating very well monitored with a constant supply of hot water when needed. Comfy bed but the duvet was an absolute heavyweight! Great location for visiting all places up and down the coast; especially Filey, Flamborough and our favourite Bempton Cliffs. If you enjoy the peace and quiet of the countryside, fabulous views, birdsong and not mind being more than ‘a bit out of town’, this is just right. We would love to visit again in the future and further explore beautiful Troutsdale but would need to check on the progress of the building works at this location as we had some groundworks noise early morning / end of the afternoon. This may only be temporary but could be a factor if staying at Manor Farm all day. We had an issue with a key, which was dealt with promptly by Christina, along with great communication, which was really appreciated. I’m sure we will be back soon as so much more to see and do. Missing the House Martins and Song Thrush already!

A lovely old house in a stunning location (but perhaps difficult to access in winter?). A well-equipped kitchen for real cooks with only two things missing - a proper mixing bowl and a small heatproof (Pyrex) bowl. Plenty of hot water, too. Comfortable sitting for the evenings but a decent reading lamp would make it even better - not everyone wants to watch tv on holiday! The beds are also comfortable and the linen is of good quality. Certainly one of the better holiday lets I've experienced over the last forty years and I might well return before too long as there is so much to do and explore in the area.
