Guests that stayed at this property said

Most guests found Cooper's Cottage to be clean and well-presented, with particular praise for the bedrooms and bathroom. However, a few guests mentioned areas that could benefit from deeper cleaning or maintenance, slightly affecting the overall impression of cleanliness.

The location of Cooper's Cottage is highly praised for its convenience to local shops, eateries, and attractions, including the North Yorkshire Moors. Despite being on a main road, many guests were not disturbed by noise, and the proximity to restaurants was seen as a plus, although one review mentioned privacy concerns.

Guests generally found the cottage to be comfortable, with special mentions of comfy beds and a cosy living area. The presence of a log burner was appreciated for chilly evenings. Some guests noted issues with a shower door and kitchen tap, but these did not significantly detract from the overall comfort.

Facilities at Cooper's Cottage met the needs of most guests, with a well-equipped kitchen and a secure courtyard. However, some guests reported maintenance issues such as stiff taps and a loose kitchen tap, and concerns about stair safety. The lack of an outdoor seating area was also noted.

While several reviews mention a welcome pack and gifts such as wine, chocolates, and milk, which were appreciated, not enough information is provided to guarantee such offerings for future guests. Therefore, while these touches indicate thoughtfulness, it cannot be assured for all stays.

The surrounding areas are great too, so close to the moors and to other interesting towns and villages. My dog loved exploring with me and the town is very dog friendly. The steam train does not run during the winter, but I'd certainly like to come back when it is running because the route looks spectacular. The cottage was comfortable and well equipped. Some minor repairs are required, especially the shower tray, as it has not been installed level and due to this, the water does not drain well enough and I was concerned that it would flood the floor, so I only used the bath. The tap in the kitchen was loose also, which made it difficult to use. I was worried about parking, but this wasn't difficult, I parked on the road but the pass to park in the nearby car park for free was great. Overall, it was a lovely week away.

It is well placed for local walks, restaurants and pubs. We enjoyed the log burner on chilly evenings, and a long soak in the bath after a walk. We had days out in Whitby, Scarborough and Filey which were easily reached from the cottage. A good base for holidays and the dog had a great time!
