The Old Pipe House is a beautiful semi-detached Georgian house within easy walking distance of Malton's bustling town centre. This cottage is ideally located for families or couples looking to explore the surrounding countryside whilst being close to the market towns amenities. This lovely house retains period features reminiscent of a bygone time, from decorative cornices to deep skirting boards, window shutters and ornate fireplaces. The spacious yet cosy sitting room is just perfect for curling up in front of the woodburning stove and planning the next day's adventure. The two bedrooms have original fireplaces and offer flexible sleeping options, a king-size and a twin bedroom. The well-equipped kitchen has an original beamed ceiling and a window seat where you can sit comfortably and watch the world go by. The private terraced garden offers a choice of two levels with a lawn and a patio just perfect for alfresco dining. Malton is growing a reputation as a renowned foodie destination and the Malton Food Festival provides the best of what the region provides tempting every palate. The beautiful countryside surrounding Malton is like a patchwork quilt of farmland dotted with the most charming and traditional villages built with mellow Yorkshire stone. The Howardian Hills surround the iconic and magnificent Castle Howard, which is just six miles away, with the Hills providing a walker's and cyclist's heaven. You are only a few minutes' walk from the railway station which has a direct line to the city of York and Scarborough. The glorious golden beaches of the East Yorkshire coastline, the rolling Wolds inspiring David Hockney and the spectacular woodlands and moorlands of the North Yorkshire Moors National Park are all an easy drive from The Old Pipe House. A lovely property in an excellent location.
The town of Malton has many interesting buildings including the old Corn Exchange and Assembly Rooms. A weekly market is still held in the town, as well as livestock and farmers' markets. The Yorkshire Moors are to the north, and the Yorkshire Wolds are to the south, making it excellent country for walkers and cyclists.
