About this property

Set in the sought after North Yorkshire village of Harome, the perfect place for fine food and dining with both The Pheasant and The Star Inn at Harome right on your door step, and only a short drive from the thriving market town of Helmsley, this traditional, yet modern dog friendly detached house accommodates nine guests in five delightful bedrooms.

The main house is arranged over two floors, spacious and well laid out, comprising of a large triple aspect sitting room featuring a wood burning stove and french doors leading out to the garden, an open-plan kitchen and dining area with marble worktops and extendable dining table to seat all guests overlooking the garden to the rear of the house on the ground floor. Stairs then lead to the first floor offering four bright and airy bedrooms: bedroom one with an en-suite shower room and three further bedrooms, all of which are perfect for retiring after a full day exploring the North York Moors, along with a family bathroom with bath and separate shower.

The annex sits proudly at the bottom of the garden; entered via the french doors into the open-plan living area, home to a delightful and well-equipped kitchen with seating area for two additional guests to enjoy the garden whilst having a morning cuppa. The accommodation also includes a spacious bedroom with the added advantage of a zip and link super-king size bed which, if required, can be configured as twin single beds; along with a modern en-suite shower room with a double walk-in shower. Perfect for those in the group who enjoy a little peace and quiet, whilst still enjoying a break away with family and friends. Please note, the annex will be closed off for lower occupancy bookings of seven guests or less.

Saxon House faces south and has a generous garden to the rear edged with well stocked boarders for guests to relax and enjoy the patio area leading to the side of the garden, featuring patio table and chairs for guests to enjoy al fresco dining during the summer months, accompanied by a charcoal barbecue.

Harome is a very attractive village with pretty cottages (many are thatched), a church and two renowned restaurants; The Pheasant is a 3 rosette awarded restaurant; and The Star Inn at Harome, with its very own Michelin star, serves modern Yorkshire food to the highest of standards.

The cottage was in the gorgeous village of Harome; perfect to explore the Yorkshire moors. The accommodation was beautiful; clean spacious, well equipped and ideal for our group of 5 plus a dog!

All the important things were really very good. Lots of space, good showers, good heating. Well equipped kitchen. Decor etc all looked very recent and fresh. The gate from the garden to the road is easily crawled through by a small dog. Not an issue if the dog is kept on a leash but could be if left to run free.
