Claxton Grange lies 6 miles from York and is in 16-acres of private grounds, with swimming pool, games room, garden room, hard tennis court and wildlife pond. York is a city full of history with its minster, cobbled streets, museums, the National Railway Museum, Jorvik Viking Centre and the Castle Museum, as well as an excellent choice of shops, restaurants and riverside inns. The market town of Pickering, gateway to the North York Moors National Park and terminus of the moors steam railway, 20 miles. Filey, Scarborough and Whitby are all within 40 miles. Castle Howard, 10 miles. Clifton Moor with bowling and cinema complex, 6 miles. Shop 5 miles, pub/restaurants 2 miles.
