Built by Lord Bolton for his daughter, the Hall was carefully positioned to capture his favourite view – Middleham Castle, perfectly framed from the house. The surrounding area is a dream for walkers, with the Yorkshire Dales right on the doorstep and a thriving community pub just half a mile away. Head to Harmby Waterfall (0.5 miles), a hidden gem where water tumbles into a leafy gorge. Families will love a trip to The Forbidden Corner (5.5 miles), a unique maze of tunnels, follies and surprises set within a four-acre garden. For shops, cafes and local charm, Leyburn (1.5 miles) is ideal for a wander, while the historic market town of Richmond (11 miles) makes a great day out, with its cobbled marketplace, castle and riverside walks.
