The Granary has fabulous fixtures and fittings, contemporary décor, high vaulted ceilings and floor to ceiling window, making the feeling throughout decadent and luxurious. The eco-friendly biomass underfloor heating ensures no matter what the weather is doing outside, guests will remain comfortably warm and cosy inside. Your en-suite bedroom is on the ground floor, and the bed is set with luxury bed linen and accessories, bath robes and complimentary toiletries along with a wall-mounted 55" Smart TV. The first floor opens into a fabulous open plan living space, with glass balustrade allowing the views beyond through the huge arched window. At night electric blinds give you complete privacy. Sumptuous furnishings to relax in, intimate dining for two, and fully equipped kitchen and coffee machine for your morning espresso.
Outside, you have an enclosed terraced patio area, with private dining area, firepit, hot tub for two, and at night romantic lighting sets the mood. Enjoy breath-taking views stretching across the countryside and where chickens and ducks will greet guests and visit the garden. Situated adjacent to the owner’s property, 7 miles between Richmond and Barnard Castle, within seven acres of grounds, Sykelands Grange Cottages are the ideal location for exploring this beautiful part of the country. Discreetly tucked away close to the Yorkshire Dales, yet close to the main routes of the A66 Pennine Way and the A1 Scotch Corner, guests will find themselves within easy driving distance of many popular attractions and locations. The historic and picturesque market town of Barnard Castle can be easily reached within a seven-mile drive and offers guests the opportunity to explore the popular Bowes Museum, Barnard Castle and Raby Castle, as well as the weekly farmer’s market and quaint high street. The Georgian market town of Richmond is just seven miles away in the opposite direction. A little further afield but still within an hour’s drive are Catterick Races, Masham, Harrogate, Ripon, Thirsk and York.
There is a local pub just a couple of miles away which serves excellent food and drink as well as a locally respected farm shop, which offers produce from the local area. Only 30 minutes from the majestic Yorkshire Dales, walkers and cyclists will find this designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty offers the most fabulous views.

The granary cottage was stunning. From the minute we walked into the hallway we could tell it was a luxury cottage with beautiful fixtures and fittings. And as we went through to the bedroom and bathroom on the ground floor the luxurious feel stayed. The living area dining and kitchen were impeccable. The whole style of the cottage was just absolutely stunning. It was so well equipped and had everything you needed and everywhere was spotless. Jo the owner came to see us shortly after we arrived to see if everything was fine and to ask if we needed anything she was on hand. She was such a lovely friendly person. The hot tub was a great addition and the little garden with patio chairs and table was a lovely little feature to sit and enjoy a glass of wine late in the afternoon. And of course the gorgeous three chickens that visited us every day were a great thing to see. There’s also lovely walks through the countryside right on your doorstep. Richmond market place is only a ten minute drive one way and was really nice to spend a few hours there before going to the cottage. And Barnard castle again is only ten mins drive in the opposite direction and was a close favourite of mine out the two. There is a fabulous farm shop with two floors a four minute drive away that has lots of animals outside. It’s called mainsgill farm shop and it has absolutely everything and more that you could want. And staff there are very friendly. All in all this long Easter weekend we spent at the Granary was one of the best weekends we’ve spent away from home. To sum up I’d have to say a perfect weekend.

Great accomodation, with everything available to cook with, lovely hot tub which we used every night & good location for Barnard Castle & Bowes Museum which we would recommend visiting.Lovely trip for my partners birthday.
