Guests say

Arklehurst is a cosy and traditional Dales cottage in a peaceful Yorkshire village, ideal for dog owners and walkers. Guests appreciate the beautiful surroundings, nearby walks, and dog-friendly pubs. Some concerns about parking and occasional cleanliness issues are noted, but overall, the cottage offers a charming and comfortable stay.

Cleanliness scores are mixed, with several guests finding the cottage clean and cosy, while others noted dust, cobwebs, and the need to rewash kitchen items. The presence of both positive and negative comments leads to a slightly above average score.

The location is highly praised for its beauty, tranquillity, and proximity to walks and dog-friendly pubs. The village's remoteness and scenic drives contribute to a high score, despite minor parking issues.

Guests generally find the cottage comfortable, with cosy furnishings and a warm atmosphere. Some guests mentioned uncomfortable sofas or beds, but these seem to be personal preferences rather than widespread issues.

Facilities are adequate with a well-equipped kitchen and the inclusion of a welcome pack by the owners. However, some guests encountered issues with provided utensils and maintenance concerns like heating control and cleanliness, leading to a moderate score.

The provision of a welcome pack by the owners is mentioned positively, indicating thoughtfulness. However, as gifts are not consistently mentioned by all reviewers, it is politely noted that such gestures, while appreciated, are not guaranteed for every stay.

Cottage had everything we needed. WiFi connection was good. Great value for money. Would definitely stay again as we love this area of the country. CB Inn is walkable does lovely food and dogs allowed. For me the pillows were a little too hard and big but this is a personal things. Luckily I always pack toilet rolls as non provided (Don’t get caught out as nearest shop 3 miles away).

Warm comfortable traditional cottage in a beautiful village. Pub nearby and another only a mile across meadows or the road with superb food. More outstanding walks than you could do in a week, many from the door. Great cafe in Grinton within walkable distance.

Warm and cosy. The parking can be a little difficult. Situation beautiful, lovely walks and dramatic driving!
