We had an absolutely perfect stay at Ghyll View over Christmas and couldn’t recommend it highly enough. The cottage is beautifully appointed and thoughtfully equipped with everything we could possibly need for a comfortable and relaxing stay.We especially loved the log burner — easy to light, with ample firewood provided — which made the evenings wonderfully cosy. After days out exploring Upper Swaledale, returning to the cottage was a real treat, and the bathroom felt like having our own private spa.The bed deserves a special mention — it was incredibly comfortable, so much so that we’ll be purchasing the same one for our own home in Cornwall. We slept brilliantly throughout our stay. The location is outstanding. We loved the beauty and variety of walks straight from the door, the scintillating local history, and the excellent food at the local pub. Ghyll View is a truly special place — peaceful, welcoming, and clearly cared for with great attention to detail. We would return in a heartbeat.

Ghyll View is possibly the best equipped cottage we have ever stayed in. Everything is top quality and well organised. The location is perfect if you love walking as you can walk out straight from the door with both steep dales climbs (and flatter walks too) . It is beautifully remote and never gets busy ( so bring groceries with you or arrange a delivery). The views all around are absolutely stunning and a week here rejuvinates your soul.

We love staying at Ghyll View. It is comfortable, clean, well equipped and in Swaledale, which is our favourite Dale.
