Lovely quiet site and roomy property Let down by heating, turned cold through the evening and the owner controls when it is put on throughout the day, by the time radiators heated up to warm the lodge it was then switched off again, had to sit there wrapped in blankets and coats which spoilt the evenings

However we were first greeted by a very rude man from the site office, he told us off for missing the office even though we went straight back. He then followed us down to the lodge, watched my friend park and get out of the car then told her she had parked in the wrong place. She asked where it stated where to park and he said "you shouldn't be arguing with me"!!! Our first night we decided to stay in and cook, the cooker was very dirty and smelt unpleasant. There are only a few small saucepans so cooking was out of the question. The en suite shower was also very dirty. The long list of rules about the log burner were also sent to me in very long text messages. Perhaps the owner could put a little effort into the cooker and shower as he does the precious log burner. Unbelievably the owner controls the heating (I felt like I'd gone back 30 years!) It was so cold the first night that we had to go and buy more logs to keep warm. It is not acceptable for owners to decide when you can have the heating on. During the week the owner turned up to "check on the hot tub" why he couldn't have done that after we left I don't know. After he left a woman walked through the back gate asking where he was - no idea who she was! 5 minutes later a different woman appeared peering through the gate, she ducked down when she saw me. It all felt very intrusive and made us feel uncomfortable. For anyone going in the winter months I would recommend taking some kind of heater to save spending money on logs, also take some larger saucepans if you want to cook! I'm sorry this is not a great review, I hope the owner takes note of the comments about the cooker and shower and most importantly that he allows people to decide when they need the heating on!!
