About this property

Hawes 4 miles. Situated in the picturesque village of Bainbridge in the stunning Yorkshire Dales National Park is Tiplady Cottage, a characterful holiday home, perfect for couples, friends or a small family. With aa quaint study, and an abundance of walking and cycling opportunities in the area and from the door, this welcoming cottage is ideal for a delightful break at any time of year. As you arrive and step into the sitting room, the wooden beam ceiling boasts a traditional feel, with a warm colour scheme inviting you to relax in front of the fire with a good book or a film on TV. From here, make your way to the kitchen to rustle up a hearty meal for the group to enjoy at the dining table as you toast to a wonderful break with loved ones. Upstairs, find a study area, perfect for catching up on emails or escaping for a moment of peace. When sleep calls, choose from two well-presented bedrooms, including a king-size bedroom with hardwood floor and a twin bedroom, each with the same homely and traditional feel that carries throughout the cottage. Freshen up in the mornings in the bathroom, which is back on the ground floor and offers both a bath and a shower over for your preference. Outside, admire the garden's mature plants and shrubbery with a hot cup of coffee in the morning, or a glass of wine in the warmer evenings. When you need a break from cooking, local restaurants are just a stroll away, such as the Yorbridge House Hotel and the Rose and Crown Hotel on the village green. Days out for any type of traveller can be enjoyed in the area․ There are walks to suit everyone straight from the door while the more adventurous may wish to continue on upwards to enjoy the rolling hills and higher terrain․ It's only a short drive to Askrigg or Aysgarth Falls for more days out and a trip to the glacial lake at Semerwater is a must. It's only a few miles to Hawes where you really should visit the cheese factory and history buffs may enjoy an afternoon at Dales Countryside Museum, while the walkers of the group may want to explore the cascading waters of Aysgill Force and Hardraw Force Waterfall. Further afield, a fascinating day can be had at The Forbidden Corner, a popular tourist attraction with tunnels and chambers nestled within a four-acre garden, or drive further through the heart of the Dales to visit Ribblehead, Malham or Wharfdale. With its traditional feel and convenient location Tiplady Cottage is a delightful dwelling for a lovely break in the picture-perfect Yorkshire Dales.

Hawes is a popular market town in North Yorkshire's Richmondshire district and is considered one of the Yorkshire Dales National Park's honeypot tourist attractions. The town, located between Buttertubs and Fleet Moss, is an excellent base for exploring Wensleydale and the surrounding dales of Swaledale, Cotterdale, Dentdale, Garsdale, Wharfedale, and Chapel-le-Dale. Take a walk around the Hawes Town Trail, Millennium Walk, Pennine Way, or the nearby River Ure. Hawes received the English Tourist Board's Silver Award for "Best Day Trip Out" in 1998. Although modern traffic has long replaced coaches and horse-drawn waggons along its narrow streets, market day (Tuesdays) in Hawes remains as busy as ever, with a farmers' auction attracting sheep farmers from all over the north of England. Traditional shops, cafés, and inns now cater to both Dales visitors and the local community.

Would love to return when we could enjoy the garden. No negatives.Lovely quiet cottage in a beautiful place. The local pub is very disappointing though.Great walks from the doorstep and we were blessed with very little rain.

The cottage was spotlessly clean, warm & very comfortable with everything you need. A very relaxing time, lots of walks & nights around the fire. Will be returning.

The quality of the fixtures and fittings is exceptional without being ostentatious. The setting is very pleasant too in a small row of terraced cottages in an unspoiled village. The single bathroom is a touch confined if you like contemplating life from the throne. The dedicated parking space is a bit tight due to cars parked opposite, tho my Astra had no problem. Anyway there's other parking nearby. I had a lovely stay. Thanks!
