South View is a charming, cosy cottage in a peaceful Yorkshire Dales village, praised for its spotless cleanliness, comfortable furnishings, and well-equipped kitchen. Guests consistently highlight the warm welcome and helpfulness of the owner, as well as the excellent location for exploring local walks, historic sites, and nearby pubs. The garden is a lovely bonus, and the cottage is ideal for families and dog owners. While WiFi can be patchy and a few guests noted firm mattresses or missed a tumble dryer, the overwhelmingly positive feedback makes this a highly recommended holiday retreat.
Cleanliness is repeatedly praised, with guests describing the cottage as spotless, very clean, and well maintained. Only one review mentioned an issue with bed linen quality, but this was an isolated comment among overwhelmingly positive feedback.
The location is highly rated, with guests loving the peaceful village setting, proximity to walks, historic sites, and a popular pub. The cottage is also well placed for exploring the Dales. Occasional mention of parking being busy at peak times, but this did not detract from the overall positive impression.
Guests consistently describe the cottage as cosy, comfortable, and relaxing, with good quality beds and furnishings. A few noted a firm mattress or basic facilities, but most found the accommodation warm and restful.
The cottage is well equipped, especially the kitchen, and has a pleasant garden. Some guests noted the lack of a tumble dryer or freezer, and a few mentioned variable WiFi, but these were minor issues in otherwise positive reviews.
Many guests appreciated thoughtful touches such as fresh flowers, wine, cheese, and a Christmas tree. The owner is frequently described as welcoming and helpful. Please note that such gifts are not guaranteed for every stay.

Lovely to talk to and very helpful.

A comfortable old property with everything we needed, although WiFi was rather weak. We really appreciated the secluded garden with table and chairs. Redmire is a pretty village but there can be problems parking at busy times. Our host Sue who lived next door was there on our arrival and was very helpful throughout.
