Guests say

Craven House is a well-equipped cottage with spacious rooms, modern kitchen and bathroom, and fresh bedding and towels. Set in a stunning village with a local pub, it offers a great rural location near a waterfall. Some updates are needed, but it provides a comfortable stay with a good-sized lounge and easily controlled heating.

The property received mixed feedback on cleanliness. One review mentioned it wasn't very clean, while another highlighted that the house was clean. This suggests room for improvement in consistency.

The location is highly praised for its stunning village setting, proximity to a waterfall, and local attractions. The presence of a local pub and a chippy van adds to the charm.

Comfort levels are varied, with some guests finding the furniture uncomfortable, while others had a comfortable stay. The beds were noted as fine, indicating a reasonable level of comfort overall.

Facilities are modern in some aspects, like the kitchen and bathroom, but there are issues with maintenance such as the bath tap and shower head. The heating system is noted as easily controlled, but storage heaters may need updating.

There is no mention of gifts or additional thoughtful touches in the reviews, so it is not possible to provide a score for thoughtfulness.

Stayed July 2025 Property is dated and worn, also wasn't very clean. Uncomfortable living room furniture, beds were fine, there are lots of stairs! Hot tap on bath ran so slowly it was unusable, shower head wouldn't stay in place - things like that, just very tired and in need of modernization. Oh and it says tv in each living room but they mirror each other- so pointless. We were only there a few days so coped fine but if id booked for longer id have been annoyed.Local pub over the road does basic food, nothing to write home about. Shop/cafe were closed 2 of the 3 days- no signs to say when open and very basic. Parking is road side, first come first served so can be difficult. However, the location is fantastic!!! Village is stunning, waterfall literally 200 yards away and short drive to other local attractions.

Nice cottage in the beautiful West Burton! Positives: nice crisp bed linen and lovely quality towels. Spacious rooms. Modern kitchen and bathroom. Negatives: fridge was not switched on for our arrival in a 28 degree heat so some of our food spoiled. Sofas need replaced. You can feel the wooden frame through the seat cushions making them very uncomfortable.

We enjoyed our short break but some parts of the property and equipment need updating. Property appears to be for sale so presumably new owners will invest a bit more particularly in getting rid of storage heaters which are impossible to control!
