Contemplate the exceptional beauty of the Yorkshire Dales from this tranquil retreat on the fringes of Hawes. Sleeping six guests, the three-bedroom stone hideaway, offers enchanting views out across the rolling hills, as well as superb convenience for anyone wishing to be close to shops and eateries. With accommodation across three storeys and a delightful courtyard garden, it makes a great base for families or couples, including those wishing to bring a four-legged companion. It is ideal for discovering the charm of the small market town, as well as its gorgeous Wensleydale surroundings.
Return from your exciting walks to unlace your boots and hang your coats in the hall. Also at the ground-floor level, there is a useful utility room and an inviting double bedroom with an en-suite bathroom. Your relaxing living area is up on the first floor of the cottage, in the form of a modern lounge/kitchen/diner. Here, you can gather for movie nights, prepare hearty feasts with the Yorkshire produce you have bought and gather around the table to dine together as you take in the far-reaching views. Two more bedrooms, another double and a twin, are up on the floor above, together with the family bathroom. Carry a cup of fresh coffee out into the courtyard garden on fine days and gaze out over the hills as you make your plans for the day.
Enjoy exploring pretty Hawes on foot, with its interesting, independent shops. Visit the Wensleydale Creamery and the Dales Countryside Museum while you are here. Stroll 2 miles to see the waterfall at Cotter Force or venture 10 miles to see the magnificent Aysgarth Falls. The historic town of Richmond is a 24-mile drive from the cottage. Here, you can visit its impressive castle, follow a range of town trails and walk beside the River Swale.
Mr Ramsden
Great location in the village with lovely views from the cottage
Mr Escreet
Great location with views from the rear of open countryside (and associated sheep/ cattle). immediate access to local shops, pubs etc. Parking space (one) is provided which worked well for us. I have never seen so many kitchen utensils, pots, pans etc so it is ideal for those who want to cook especially for families. The utility area with washing machine would also be ideal (we had no need to use it). One area where the property is a little tired is the two bathrooms which are due replacement but clean and functional and ideally located near bedrooms. So, overall, worth staying for a break.
Mrs Zalecki
We had a lovely stay at Stags Fell! It was the perfect base for us, right in the middle of Hawes but just tucked away enough to avoid any noise. The main living area was great and the stable door looking over the fields was a huge hit with us and our children - they spent ages looking out and it was the most beautiful view. We had everything we needed and were very comfortable. We would happily stay here again. Thank you.
