Alternatively, the famous spa town of Harrogate is about half an hour’s drive and enjoys a wealth of shops, restaurants and a theatre. The traditional market town of Ripon is a short drive, while the historical city of York is under an hour away. Don’t miss Brimham Rocks, The Forbidden Corner’s magical garden and Fountains Abbey (National Trust). Shop, pub and restaurant 1½ miles.

Bothy in very rural area. Didn’t expect it so far from amenities. Not too well equipped. No condiments, only 1 toilet roll, no kitchen roll, ran out of soap in bathroom etc. Kitchen in need of updating and fridge dirty round seal!Sitting room comfortable but Wi-fi kept cutting out. Bedroom fine. Comfy bed.

Lovely cottage, just ideal for a break away. It is in the country and still close enough to local villages and market town. Peaceful and tranquil if you don’t mind bumping into the odd horse or two. Would willingly return.

We were delighted with the Bothy and had a lovely stay. It is quite remote but having said that it didn’t take very long to get to local attractions such as Fountains Abbey, Ripon and the lovely Himalayan Sculpture Garden. We would love to go back there again.
