Nestled in the heart of North Yorkshire, in the city of Ripon, is this stylish terraced house. 8 Williamson Drive is the perfect base for a group of two couples or a small family to explore the Yorkshire Dales and the North York Moors National Parks. Set on a quiet residential road, in close distance to the City Centre and River Skell, this beautiful property welcomes you in with a striking entrance porch and gate. Be welcomed by the elegant interior as you settle in for a relaxing evening in the living/dining room, kicking back on the relaxing corner sofa for a film night with a glass of wine, followed by a cup of coffee in the private seating spot, or order a take-away to be delivered at your convenience. The kitchen is well-equipped, fitted with an electric oven and gas hob, microwave, and a fridge/freezer, as well as a casual breakfast bar for quick meals. Alternatively, dine alfresco in the enclosed courtyard on a summer's day, enjoying a drink or two as your canine companions run around. There are two inviting double bedrooms, both with floral decor and ample storage for all your belongings. Unwind in a hot bubble bath in the well-appointed bathroom, or hop in to the overhead shower. Enjoy walks along the River Skell - one direction takes you past the historic cathedral, the other into the Hell Wath Nature reserve. Or, for the more ambitious walk up to the historic Fountains Abbey, which is one of the largest and best preserved ruined Cistercian monasteries in England. Or wander the 400 yards into town to take in the many shops, pubs and restaurants. On a fine evening, drift up to the town square 300 yards away to hear the hornblower blow his horn at 9pm to declare that all is well - A tradition that goes back over a thousand years. Immerse yourself in culture as you roam around the city of Ripon, home to an imposing Cathedral where you'll find the ancient Saxon crypt, the Prison & Police Museum, three Yorkshire Law & Order Museums, Ripon Racecourse Marina, and the Ripon Spa Gardens. Venture out for a fun-filled day at Lightwater Valley Theme Park, with a thrilling choice of rollercoasters, or spend a day at Ripon's Garden Racecourse. Discover Newby Hall & Gardens which boasts over 25 acres of sensational gardens, featuring unique flora and plants, or take a scenic drive over to the Nidderdale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Nice neighbours and brilliant for short and long dog walks up and down the river and canal. Very conveniently close to town but also nicely quiet. The house is very clean and a nice layout. The bed was extremely comfortable. We would definitely consider coming back here in the future.

This is an outstanding property - spotlessly clean, furnished to a high standard and within a stones throw of the centre of beautiful Ripon. The living room is warm, cosy and comfortable and the kitchen very well equipped with everything you need. The beds are very comfortable and the house was lovely and warm during our stay. Ripon is a great place to visit with plenty going on locally and some lovely walks very close by. Within Ripon we particularly enjoyed visiting The Royal Oak, So Bar and Eats and the Ripon Inn. We would definitely return. If I could change anything at 8 Williamson Drive, it would be to have a proper dining table and chairs. I felt the extra seating in the dining area unnecessary as there are two large sofas in the lounge to easily seat 4 people and it feels like wasted space really which would be better utilised as a proper dining area. There is a fold away table but it was awkward to get the chairs out and they were uncomfortable to sit on. A small niggle in an otherwise faultless holiday home.
