Around and About

Situated in the lower reaches of pretty Wensleydale and alongside the River Ure is the historic little market town of Masham. With both a Wednesday and Saturday market in its huge market square, this little town is set in gently rolling farmland amongst a wide range of walks throughout the area. The most well known of these is perhaps the recently reopened ten mile walk along the River Ure, renowned as being one of the best walks in the country. Home to the popular Black Sheep Brewery which now brews 11 million pints of beer a year, the town is also home to a good range of crafts, galleries, shops, restaurants and pubs. With the popular towns of Ripon and Harrogate just an easy drive away, there's a lot to see and do in this wonderful area.

From heather-clad moors and limestone scars, to market towns and the steady pace of country life - the sublime Dales await you! Where else in Britain is it as satisfying to sit and do nothing as it is to explore the numerous pursuits on offer?
