Situated in the lower reaches of pretty Wensleydale, the historic little market town of Masham lies alongside the River Ure. Boasting a huge market square with popular Wednesday and Saturday markets, this lovely little town is set gently rolling farmland which provides a wide selection of walks around the area. This includes a popular and recently reopened ten mile walk along the Ure that is widely regarded as one of the best walks in the UK. With an excellent range of crafts, galleries, shops, restaurants and pubs, the town has become known for the local Black Sheep Brewery which now brews eleven million pints of beer a year. The town of Harrogate is nearby andvisitors may also enjoy a trip to the famous Betty's Tea Rooms – home to the famous Taylor's Tea, Yorkshire Blend.
