Situated just outside the centre of the small village of Spofforth is this charming getaway for a couple, offering a quiet countryside base after exploring the delightful nearby Harrogate. The Hayloft is one of several properties which have been wonderfully converted from barn buildings to be high-quality holiday homes, located on a working livestock farm. Hues of yellow and grey offset the natural wood floor and furnishings, and the inviting brown leather corner sofa, providing a snug spot to snuggle up in after an exciting day. Delighting in the natural light flooding in from the patio door windows, this open-plan living space is light and bright, with a dining table perfect for perching with a morning coffee.
Over in the kitchen, muted grey cupboards hold all you need for rustling up some tasty treats, with a great range of appliances, including a fridge, freezer, dishwasher and washing machine; you've got it all. Up on the first floor you will find the charming bedroom holding a sumptuous king-size bed, with a Juliet balcony meaning you can wake up to fresh country air and views beyond, with a sofa in here too which is lovely for a bit of evening reading. Quite simply we could not fault it. Everything you need is provided and Patricia is a lovely host. It is an exceptional place to stay.

Just some little things that could improve would be that the signage to the fam was clearer. Driving in the winter in the dark means you canât see the buildings and turning very easily. The yard was also dark and we couldnât see easily that there was reserved parking by the cottage. A light on in the cottage for when you arrive in the dark would be good also as we had to use the torch on our phones to find the light switch.

Plenty of comfortable space and facilities along with some very nice touches. Location was good with Harrogate, Knaresborough within a few miles and the local shop caters for most daily needs. A thoroughly enjoyable stay in pleasant and convenient surroundings. We could well return in future.
